Figures come from people who chose to report, so they describe reporters rather than the whole UK. A group appears only once it has at least 5 reports.

Privacy, in plain English

  • What we collect: your answers to the questions above, and only the first half of your postcode. No name, no email, no address.
  • How we recognise you: when you first report, your browser is given a random ID and keeps it in local storage, so you can come back and update your answer instead of adding a new one. It isn't linked to who you are.
  • What's public: only totals and percentages. Nobody, including us on this page, can see an individual report. A district only appears once 5 or more people there have reported.
  • Spam protection: Cloudflare Turnstile checks you're a person when you first report. Cloudflare and our database provider see your IP address to do that and to limit abuse; we don't store it with your answers.
  • No tracking: no advertising, no analytics, no tracking cookies.
  • Where it lives: in a Supabase database in the EU (Frankfurt). The site is served by Cloudflare.
  • Area lookups: when you look up a district, your browser asks postcodes.io for its place name and Open-Meteo for its recent weather. They see your IP address and the district, as any website would, and nothing is stored by us.
  • Who might see the figures: we may share aggregated figures, never individual reports, with journalists, researchers or charities working on fuel poverty.
  • Changing your mind: you can update your answer above at any time. If you've cleared your browser data, we can no longer tell which report was yours.
